English term or phrase: digitalia
FALL 2003: There's a snap in the air and a backpack on every college-bound bod. Along with their minifridges and tabletop stereo systems, students returning to campuses from coast to coast are lugging their laptop or desktop computers—machines that decidedly did not spend the summer being patched, updated, or otherwise kept free of viruses, spyware and other sinister digitalia.

Explanation:
In this case, "digitalia" is just a fancy word for "software" or "computer code". There is no need to specifically translate it into Chinese if you do not wish to; otherwise, just use 硁砰 or 祘Α.

BTW, in this case \"digitalia\" cannot mean hardware, because the idea is that since the computer was not patched or updated (software fixes), it might have sinister digitalia. A good example of a native writer mis-using (slightly) a word, although most readers would understand the intent, I believe.
