Over the next 12 months, Auburn Council will reduce illegal dumping and littering.
Council will carry out extra inspections of businesses, provide an extra free call up collection, increase litter patrols and ***extend the 660 litre bin service*** in multi-unit dwellings.
Council collects 30 tonnes of illegally dumped rubbish a month, enough to cover three tennis courts to a depth of 30cm or to fill every room in a three bedroom house.
It costs the community $110,000 a year to remove and dispose of this dumped rubbish.
