English term or phrase: drop your middle management in a gunk tank
I knew I would never find a company that would ever come close in comparison. As far as I’m concerned there’s no place like it. ***I mean, where else can you work where you get the chance to drop your middle management in a gunk tank? ***That’s what happened when we were all raising money for the Hurricane Katrina victims.

把中层管理人员送入獅口,(遇危難時)丟下---不管

Language variant: 弃(中层管理人员)于危难之中

Explanation:
In game shows a gunk tank is a large container filled with slime (粘泥) into which unfortunate contestants are dropped.

Similar to "leave sb in the lurch" -> 弃(某人)于危难之中
or

Also, "hang sb out to dry".

People will often say "You really dropped me in it", meaning you got me into trouble (/s..t) (by reporting to authorities, not keeping a secret). I wonder how raising money for victims of hurricane Katrina might have dropped middle management in it. Maybe managers felt they had to give lots of money or they would look bad...
