English term or phrase: protégé
Sorry for no reference, I know its derivation (from French), however, I want to its accurate definition or explanation in English, whether there are relations with the Bible, and the difference among apostle, disciple and protégé.

Thanks in advance, I know a little about apostle, disciple and protégé, however, I want further confirmation, whether in English or Chinese.

Explanation:
protégé is one who is protected or trained or whose career is furthered by a person of experience, prominence, or influence. 门徒 seems pretty good but don't we have better slag in chinese for that? Or maybe it's just cantonese?
