In Chinese philosophy, there was a similar thought expressed by the philosopher Zhuangzi. He said that he would rather be a turtle enjoying the coolness of the mud than be a turtle killed as sacrifice to gods.
To be a happy pig or to be a needle in a haystack, that's the question.
You might be a happy pig or a pig which is destined to be sacrificed. You might be as invisible as a needle in a haystack and be safe. However, no one would notice you in the haystack unless he/she gets pricked. So, make your choice.
