Kad kupcu, u okviru nekog projekta, nudite proizvod i uslugu, u pravilu postoji i određeni broj tehničar-sati, inženjer-sati, konzultant-sati ... itd. Ti se sati obračunavaju i naplaćuju po izvršenom/odobrenom dijelu projekta ili privremenoj situaciji (uobičajeno u građevinarstvu). To su naplativi sati. Za razliku od njih, pogotovo u konzultantskim poslovima, postoji rad (sati) koji nije naplativ kao konzultant-sati, već posredno, kroz isporučiva dobra (deliverables).
