Kada se upuštaju u granu koja je izvan njihove osnovne djelatnosti za razvoj, rade dodatne korake – držeći se blisko povezanih proizvoda, potrošača, ili geografskih aspekata – i grabe prilike samo onda kada im je put do vodeće pozicije osiguran.
