Ovo je pojam iz common law sustava - vrsta šteta za koje je propisana kazna (punitive damages), odnosno način na koji se određuje (odno. zakonom propisuje) njihov iznos:
Punitive damages may either be a statutorily fixed multiple sum of the loss caused (multiple damages) or undetermined and left to the discretionary power of the judge.
Except statutorily regulated forms of fixed multiple damages, there is no coherent system of determining the sum of punitive damages in legal systems where they are accepted.
