Found explanation of the term: "The tax point is usually the date the invoice was made up, invoiced. It wont be when the goods were ordered or when the job was done. / The tax point could be the invoice date, or the delivery date, or the date of completion of service. It really depends on what the invoice is for. The tax referred to is the VAT (value added tax) which currently stands at 17.5% for most things although this too is variable. The best place for tax information is at the following
