Bus/Financial - Accounting / tax reconciliation | | English term or phrase: return to provision reconciliation | For each national income tax jurisdiction of each active legal entity, an annual reconciliation must be prepared comparing all amounts entering into the computation of current income tax liability per the prior year’s income tax provision to all amounts entering into the computation of tax liability per the income tax return for that year.
That reconciliation should start with U.S. GAAP net profit or loss before tax and should include an item-by-item listing of:
- All adjustments entering into the computation of current income tax liability per the prior year income tax provision.
- The corresponding amounts from the income tax return for that year, if any, plus all other adjustments entering into the computation of tax liability per the return.

The return to provision reconciliations must include a separate reconciliation of the adjusted balance of all current income tax liability or receivable accounts to amounts owed to or due from tax authorities.
