Each dosimeter was set to use an 80 dBA threshold, 90 dBA criterion, 5 dbA exchange rate, and slow response as per the OSHA Hearing Conservation standard".
I have found a definition of exchange rate: "Exchange rate refers to how the sound energy is averaged over time"
