Mask Works are defined in the Act as: a series of related images, however fixed or encoded (1) having or representing the predetermined three-dimensional pattern of metallic, insulating, or semiconductor material present or removed from the layers of a semiconductor chip product; and (2) in which series the relation of the images to one another is that each image has the pattern of the surface of one form of the semiconductor chip product.

They might have a different term for semiconductor production masks, but this might go a long way until you get a better term, if there is one.

Mask works are computer chip designs and since the chip is produced by taking away exposed, i.e. not \"masked\" material in several layers. The set of masks, i.e. images of the areas to be exposed in any given layer of the wafer and thus be etched or otherwise removed to become a part of the miniature integrated circuit, is the \"mask works\", I presume.
