Bus/Financial - Human Resources / Performance Management
English term or phrase: incumbent
Termín je z prezentace řízení výkonnosti / perfomance management. Incumbent je ten, který je školen, na kterého je dohlíženo. Lze použít počeštěný termín "inkumbent"? Žádný z obecně nabízených překladů (držitel úřadu apod.) se nehodí. Děkuji.

zúčastněný
Explanation:
One of meanings of incumbent is also occupant, or resident, but here I feel it as participants, because you need to participate in it in order to be managed…etc.
So go with:

if a noun: 'stávající' if an adjective: 'závazné'

Explanation:
Your question leads me to believe that 'incumbent' is used in your text as a noun. Therefore 'stávající' is one possible solution, depending on the actual text and context.

If on the other hand something in your text is 'incumbent upon someone', then 'je pro něj závazné' or 'je pro něj závaznou povinností'.

Once again, the exact text and context are needed for a proper solution.

personál

Explanation:
These are some of the choices I would consider: personál, manažované osoby, dotyčné osoby, podřízené osoby, sledované osoby, etc. ...

You asked for the translation of 'incumbent', but the text uses the plural 'incumbents'. For the plural 'incumbents', 'personál' would do nicely. Where the text uses the singular, you might use 'dotyčný', or any more specific term that would be appropriate once you have more information to base your choice on.

It definitely would not be "školený", i.e. 'trainee' because the trainee is not necessarily one of the incumbents. If the trainee happens to be one of the incumbents, he is being trained only due to being an "incumbent" in the first place. Not necessarily all incumbents are subject to this training. I would assume their bosses are.

We do not know who the audience is or who the people subjected to the "managing, directing, coaching, developing, assessing and rewarding" process are. Are the latter employees, contractors, partners or some other category of people?

You say "Incumbent je ten, který je školen, na kterého je dohlíženo." That does not explain why he is refered to as 'incumbent'. Your statement means only that is so happens that those being trained are incumbents of something or other, although we do not know what it is they are incumbents of.

You say "Zvažuji překlad jako: školený, zaměstnanec, atp., ale tyto temríny nejsou dost výstižné." The problem is we still don't know the definition of what you are trying to translate. Therefore we have no way of deciding whether your suggested terms express the original well enough or not.

It is incumbent upon the author of the text using the word 'incumbent' to state who the incumbents are or give us enough context to decide what it is he refers to. Otherwise he is assuming you know that from sources outside of his presentation or is simply using the wrong word.

It is incumbent upon you to find the answers to the questions from those passing the information to you to translate.
