Energie potřebná k tvorbě částic z roztoku pochází z piezoelektrického krystalu, který vytváří vysokofrekvenční ultrazvukové vlnění. To způsobuje vibrace roztoku, z jehož hladiny jsou uvolňovány částice aerosolu. Malým ventilátorem jsou pak tyto částice hnány k inhalační trubici, na který je napojen náustek či maska. |
