Yes, I came across the English>French question myself, too, and from what I can tell that question concerns the same text as mine. However, I am pretty sure that the solution similar to 'image gallery' is wrong. It has nothing to do with pictures or any physical images, but concerns the image of a brand. You're absolutely right when you're relating it to consumers' ideas and connotations in relation to car models. I dare borrow the last reference link provided in the French question:
