This sentence is from a manual for a packing machine that seals bags in boxes and uses pressurized air for the purpose

Explanation:
luftstrømmen blokeres af filmen på langs af sidefolden (lille hul), og overtrykket udløser en trykfølsom kontakt

As I understand it, the gusset is probably a fold or pleat in the bag.
Sidefold is the suggestion in Gyldendals Røde for the gusset in a paper bag, but it would apply equally to a plastic film bag.
