A) what is it: a pigtail catheter is a catheter that curls up at the end when it is applied inside the body. The direct translation 'grisehale kateter' seems to be an established term (web ref. 1)
B) what is a catheter straightener then: something more rigid that the catheter resides and that straightens it out because it is not supposed to curl up until it is at its destination (web ref. 2)
C) what is a straightener in Danish in this context? I made a few guesses and trys with Google. Found this entry but could not open the entry. But I think this is proof 'hylster' is used in Danish:
"Et kateter kan også placeres ved en frisk blodprop, så man kan indsprøjte et ... i en ... plasthylster og folder sig selv ud, når dette hylster trækkes tilbage. ... "
The whole sentence would then translate like this:
"Et engangs grisehale-hylster leveres med alle grisehale-modeller." |
