lille spidsværdi/lille peak


Explanation:
Ifølge L&H teknisk ordbog kan "peak" betyde "spidsværdi", også kaldet "topværdi".
Sådanne spidsværdier er formodentlig værdier for kurvers yderste udsving.

Jeg tror, at en "sub-peak" generelt både kan referere til negative og positive spidsværdier, hvis udsving på en kurve blot er mindre end de største udsving på kurven.

Opdatering 5. april:

Hvis min fortolkning ellers er korrekt (jeg vil ikke udelukke, at Blangsteds version er den rigtige) er det måske lidt bedre at oversætte "sub-peaks" til "de mindre spidsværdier/de mindre peaks".
Så kan man bedre høre, at disse "sub-peaks" ses i forhold til "peaks", der er større.

En mulig oversættelse er også "mindre udsving" - for at gøre det til lidt mere almindeligt dansk.

agree  NetLynx: 'mindre peak' evt. 'mindre spids' er et godt bud, se http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topographic_prominence {ganske vist om topografi}.//Helst ikke 'udsving' {ikke-fagligt ord}. '[bjerg]tinde/top' for geologi; 'spids', 'top', 'peak' i fysik, kemi, med, etc.
