"Latch" kan også bare være "lås", altså uden nogen specificering af, hvilken type lås, der er tale om. Og da det lyder lidt som et stykke litteratur, du er i gang med at oversætte, må jeg erklære mig enig med Christina (CD), og vil foreslå en oversættelse til "lås".

...er et ord jeg personligt godt kan lide. Det er et dejligt præcist ord, men det passer måske ikke ind i den aktuelle stil :-)
Andre muligheder er haspe eller skydelås.
Det kommer vel også an på hvad slags dør det drejer sig om (en lem? en skurdør?)

agree  Charlotte Langbeen: I think "haspe" would be the most precise translation. I do not think you would grasp a "lås" - you would lock or unlock a "lås".
