context:'The obtained aqueous solution of substance x in sulfuric acid is stored at a dedicated storage facility for further on-site uses or supply to downstream users. The solution is delivered to downstream users in transportation vessels (i.e. 1000 L-Intermediate Bulk Containers, road tankers, portable tanks).'

For another use, x (powdery solid) is packed in paper bags. Context:
'The bags are fed into tailor-made back-opening devices (large scale industry) or opened by hand in front of the premixing tank and emptied manually (majority of industrial and professional downstream users).'

'downstream' is not meant literally here, as the product is either pumped to on-site users or shipped to off-site users for use in their plants, where it is made into different products. It refers to the fact that the users of product x use it as base material in their own production processes.

Correctie op mijn toelichting: eindgebruik door consumenten valt volgens de definities niet onder downstreamgebruik.
Een downstreamgebruiker: is elke in de Gemeenschap gevestigde natuurlijke persoon of rechtspersoon, niet zijnde een fabrikant of importeur, die een stof, hetzij als zodanig, hetzij in een mengsel, gebruikt bij zijn industriële activiteiten of beroepsactiviteiten. Distributeurs en consumenten zijn geen downstreamgebruikers.

Explanation:
ik wilde 'vervolg' al bij het vorige antwoord gebruiken, maar daar kreeg ik het niet passend. hier past het beter :)

ik zou niet weten of er een directere vertaling voor 'downstream' is; hopelijk heeft iemand anders een idee. 'stroomafwaarts' ken ik in deze context niet.
