Een 'engineer' is een hoog opgeleide technisch medewerker van een bedrijf. Een 'consulting engineer' is een term die veelal als toevoeging van bedrijfsnamen wordt toegepast. In dat geval betekent het altijd raadgevend ingenieur. Technisch adviseur dekt de lading niet, omdat 'engineering' toegepaste wetenschap is. Ik ben zelf namelijk een consulting engineer.
