In 1995, a successful bid was made to the government to restart Callide A on the following basis. The plant would be refurbished for an additional 15 years life. A major part of the refurbishment project would involve the total replacement and significant expansion of the automation systems and associated field devices. It was ensivaged that the plant would be required for intermediate duty with an annual load capacity of less than 15 %. Weekday duty only was proposed with minimum load overnight and maximum load during the day. All units recommence commercial load operation on the 1 st March 1998. |
