Een ziekenhuis heeft een warmtevraag zowel in de vorm van stoom als in de vorm van warm water. Indien we als WKK-technologie een installatie op basis van motoren beschouwen, waarbij enkel warmterecuperatie in de vorm van warm water gebeurt, dan valt de behoefte aan stoom buiten de voor WKK relevante energievraag. Het is dus noodzakelijk voor de dimensionering van de WKK enkel de voor WKK relevante warmte te bepalen.
