Lijkt me een afkorting van finish seal, afwerknaad, ter onderscheiding van de zakjes , buideltjes die uit een slang worden gevormd en alleen aan de twee uitenden worden dichtgeslast / dichtgesmolten.

Nb.1: de term wordt toch wel vaak onvertaald gelaten, maar dat lijkt mij hier nergens voor nodig.
Nb.2: dit is er ook te vinden op het net: "Fin seal packaging (also called ovewrapping, flow wrapping, horizontal pouch, and vertical pouch packaging) " ( http://www.polybag.com/systemfinseal.html ) Maar lijkt mij door de opeenhoping van toch schijnbaar erg verschillende technieken niet erg nuttig voor precieze terminologie.
Nb.3: Ja; pouch is net zo veelomvattend als een zak.
