Volgens IATE: de afkorting van Real Estate Investment Trust. De gegeven vertaling (bron: vertaaldienst van een bank in Brussel) is 'burgerlijke vennootschap voor onroerende belegging'.

In mijn eigen woordenboeken kan ik dit niet terugvinden. Is dit ook in Nederland de gangbare term?

De term die jij aangaf staat maar een paar keer op het internet. Als je de Engelse volledige tekst zoekt (meer dan 1 miljoen keer) maar dan in het Nederlands vind je vastgoedinvesteringen met een naam er voor om bedrijven aan te duiden....

Mijn Terminologie Financieel Management geeft voor REIT bovengenoemde term aan, meet ook de mogelijkheid van beleggingstrust ipv depot. Depot geeft echter veel meer hits op internet.
