Ik lees 'blind-mate' hier als bijvoeglijk naamwoord. Het gaat dan om 'blind-mate plugs' (waarvoor overigens nogal wat webreferenties te vinden zijn). Het Engelse 'blind' in de context van machineonderdelen wordt ook in het Nederlands vaak vertaald met 'blind'. Zie bijvoorbeeld het onderstaande lijstje uit Kluwer Werktuigbouwkunde. Ik zou dat hier ook rustig doen. Dan krijg je 'blinde plug', waarvoor ook een redelijk aantal webreferenties te vinden is. Blijft dan de term 'mating'. Die zou ik hier vertalen met 'bijbehorend' of eventueel 'bijpassend', hoewel in het onderstaande lijstje -- eveneens uit Kluwer Werktuigbouwkunde -- blijkt dat 'mating bijvoorbeeld ook wel wordt vertaald met 'contra' of 'tegen'. Voor een octrooitekst lijkt me dat te vrij.
