English term or phrase: made good
'The country girl made good with the heart of gold'.
Dutch translation:Two choices...
It all depends how one reads the phrase, but I think the first of my suggestions is the correct one.
Made good = succeeded
1. het buitenmeisje met het gouden hart maakte het
Literally it means 'the country girl succeeded, AND she has a heart of gold'
2. het buitenmeisje maakte het vanwege haar gouden hart
Literally this means 'the country girl succeeded BECAUSE of the heart of gold'
Hope this helps
