The above is a translation of murder instruments in the context of the genocide in Cambodja. I don't like the term because it is a literal translation and sound wrong. I would prefer to put moord tuig which sounds wrong but is correct. Looked it up in synonyms. If there is anyone out there who can think of something better please let me know.

Ik gebruik de online versie van de van Dale, dus recenter kan niet.
Ik wil er wel op wijzen dat de van Dale het meertvoud niet geeft van samengestelde woorden (vb. sneltrein, werktafel, bolhoed...). Wil je het meervoud kennen, dan kijk je bij het grondwoord (trein, tafel, hoed...). Alleen als er "g.mv." bij staat, is er geen meervoud. Maar zoals blijkt uit het woordje "tuig" hangt dat ook af van de betekenis.
Ik ben het eens met Ide dat Van Dale de referentie is voor correct geschreven Nederlands. Maar het punt is dat de nieuwste Van Dale nadrukkelijk meldt dat 'moordtuig' geen meervoud heeft. In oudere versies was dat misschien anders, maar als je vD als referentie neemt, moet je ook de nieuwste versie nemen. Andersch zijn er nogthans nog veele andere spellinghen moochelyk.
Het is niet omdat een woord opduikt in oude of zelfs middeleeuwe teksten dat het daarom ook archaïsch is. Als dat waar zou zijn, is de basis van onze hele omgangstaal archaïsch.
En sinds wanneer is de GvD gestopt met dé referentie te zijn op het vlak van algemeen Nederlands?
Van Dale is echt niet de enige bron voor de Nederlandse taal. En als ik de Van Dale Scheurkalender van 2012 bekijk dan is het zelfs triest met deze autoriteit gesteld.
Dus hier wat google refs die m.i. aangeven dat moordtuig(en) toch echt wel wat archaisch is - zomaar van de eerste respectievelijke pagina's met resultaten.
