English term or phrase: snugger and snare
After the shunt is dipped in sterile heparinized solution, the (proximal) end of the shunt is gently inserted into the common carotid artery and fixed in place with a snugger and snare, or appropriate vascular ring clamps.

snugger and snare device = inrichting om het onderwerp strak te trekken en te borgen


Explanation:
Volgens mij mist er een zelfstandig naamwoord achter snare. Men bedoelt bijvoorbeeld zoiets als een kabelbandje, waarmee je de zaak strak trekt en vervolgens borgt met het palmechanisme van zo'n bandje.
