In een tekst over een geneesmiddel: *It is not approved for compounding into smaller doses for ocular use.*
En *The practice of compounding medicines in the pharmacy may introduce the potential for error due to improper or inadequate handling procedures...*
In de tweede zin zou ik zeggen dat *samenstellen van geneesmiddelen* als vertaling OK is. Maar in de eerste zin zie ik dat niet zitten (*samenstellen tot lagere doses*? nee...). Ik zie dat de term vaak ook onvertaald blijft. Is dat in dit geval ook correct?

bereiden/klaarmaken

Explanation:
Nagevraagd bij mijn partner die bij een farma-bedrijf (afdeling verwerking van trialgegevens) werkt: daar wordt de engelse term niet gebruikt (en dat wil wat zeggen! bijna alles gaat daar in het engels...). Wat ze wel kenden is "to compound a recipy": een recept bereiden/ klaarmaken". Dat is hier wel te gebruiken, lijkt me.
