In een octrooi voor een doseringsvorm in tabletvorm. Het gaat om een kerftest om te bepalen wat de breukkracht van een tablet is. Ik dacht zelf aan "penetratiediepte of kerfdiepte tot breken", maar dan snap ik niet goed wat die laatste "distance" daar nog bij komt doen.....Of misschien lees ik die uitdrukking wel volledig verkeerd en wordt er iets totaal verschillend bedoeld. Is er iemand die heel erg gespecialiseerd is in dit vakgebied?

In de PDF hieronder wordt in alinea [0050] een test beschreven waarin de *penetration depth to crack* distance wordt gemeten. Het gaat hier niet om een verhouding, maar echt om een diepte(doorgaans in mm gegeven) tot waar een *probe* in de tablet dringt tot de tablet het begeeft. Merk op dat in de verwijzing de term gescheiden wordt in *penetration depth to crack* en *distance*. En: *For each penetration depth of the probe, which will hereinafter be referred to as "distance", the corresponding
force is measured, and the data are collected.*
Volgens mij heb je dus gelijk dat het eigenlijk alleen om een diepte gaat en dat de toevoeging van *distance* overbodig is.

Kan het zijn dat hier de verhouding wordt bedoeld? De 'penetration depth" vis-à-vis de "crack distance"?

Maw. de afstand tussen de kerfdiepte en de breuk.
