Bedankt, was dus eigenlijk niet zo moeilijk, maar ik kon er niet opkomen. Al die verschillende "soorten" artsen ook.
Dit is beslist wel de juiste vertaling. Er is toch echt een subtiel verschil tussen referring/verwijzend en ordering/voorschrijvend. "voorschrijvend arts" levert bovendien volop Google-hits op die dat nader bevestigen.

echt geijkte termen zijn dat in feite niet (uitgezonderd uiteraard "attending physician" en "referring physician"), in geen van de beide talen; wel natuurlijk bruikbaar in specifieke zinsverband.
admitting physician = arts die de patient opneemt (ken geen kortere term);
diagnostic physician = arts die instaat voor het diagnostisch werk / arts van de diagnostische disciplines (ken geen kortere term);
intervention physician = arts die behandelingen doorvoert (in studie kontext kan dat de arts zijn, die diegene groep behandelt, welke voorzien is voor de actieve behandeling in plaats van placebo); opnieuw geen geijkte term.
In feite is mijn hele uiteenzetting voor u uiteraard geen nieuws, behalve dan de vaststelling dat dit geen geijkte termen zijn.

Uit de vele Google-hits leid ik af dat het gaat om artsen die testen bestellen bij een medisch labo.
Voorschrijvende arts lijkt me dus niet juist
