Explanation:
Hiermee worden accoorden op de 1e, 3e en 5e trap van de toonladder bedoeld. Een toonladder heeft 7 trappen, op iedere trap kun je een accoord bouwen, waarbij je steeds één toon overslaat (bv C-E-G -evt B). Deze accoorden kunnen dan ook weer in verschillende liggingen gespeeld worden, waarbij de bovenste onder komt te liggen. Dit kun je dus vrij letterlijk vertalen, het zal voor iedere musicus volkomen duidelijk zijn.

lianne jm van de ven: the source doesn't say "couldn't"// als het muzikanten zijn dan neem ik aan dat ze die progressies "kunnen" spelen... en het zou hun hart breken als ze ze niet zouden spelen....

Eppo Schaap: Lianne jm, je kunt niet alles letterlijk vertalen... (als dat zo was waren wij al door computers vervangen!) Soms moet je het zo formuleren dat het in het Nederlands het meest vloeiend klinkt. Dit lijkt me geen verhaal met alleen wetenschappelijke feiten.

Jan Willem van Dormolen: Nog een streepje tussen V en akkoorden, dan is het goed. Al zou ik zelf 'schema' gebruiken ipv het wat ouderwetse 'progressie'. // Engels kent geen ander woord dan 'progression', althans niet in blues (wel in jazz, maar dat is andere context).

Typische muzikantentermen (ik ben er een). 1, 3 en 5 zijn akkoordtrappen in een schema (eigenlijk moeten die zelfs in romeinse cijfers, maar dan snapt niemand waar het over gaat waarschijnlijk).

Inderdaad bestaat het 'echte' bluesschema uit I, IV en V, maar zijn we meer aan het redigeren.
