XXX has recently patented its own developed towing ring. This simple, but efficient ring has proven to be the best solution to connect a polyester towline with a dyneema forerunner.

Due to the all round edges the ring creates a very favorable bending radius increasing the lifetime of the wires seriously. The ring also creates the possibility to “introduce a weak link” in the towline configuration. This is something that the so called “cow hitch” could never achieve.

als er sprake is van een mechanische opeenvolging van elementen, waarin men graag ziet dat - als er een breuk optreedt - deze breuk zich op een welbepaalde plaats voordoet, noemt men dit het creëren of letterlijk introduceren van een zwakke schakel....ik geef persoonlijk de voorkeur aan creëren omdat dit de indruk vermijdt dat men werkelijk iets speciaals toevoegt; het gaat dikwijls over een reeds aanwezig onderdeel dat men gewoonweg minder sterk dimensioneert dan de rest

Asker: Bedankt voor de verdere uitleg, Blomguib, maar ik had de "zwakke schakel" van Riens al gebruikt met "aanbrengen" als werkwoord.
