Letterlijk: kamer-upgrades zijn beschikbaar..in sommige hotels.
Het gebeurt regelmatig dat hotels een betere kamer (groter, mooier, beter... gesitueerd) aanbieden (aan bv. de prijs van een gewone kamer) aan bv. vaste klanten, aan leden van bv. een 'frequent flyer club' of gewoon ter promotionele ondersteuning.
Een 'junior suite' ipv een 'standard superior room', een 'suite' ipv een junior suite', een 'superior room' ipv een 'standard room', 'een kamer met zeezicht' ipv 'een kamer met uitzicht op de tuin' enz.
+/- tien jaar de wereld afgehotst als tour manager, maar ook als reisagent en t.o.
