This is a falconry term (some biologists also use it) to refer to a bird of prey that has left or flown from the nest. Does anyone know what this is called in Dutch? Thanks! If you can provide examples or URLs would be great. Thanks

a bit tricky, it's simply a jonge vogel die op het punt van uitvliegen staat, itt een nestjong.
Wie weet vindt iemand anders iets officielers

agree  ilse van haneghem: Met takkeling; je vindt ook op Nederlandse sites en zelfs in Van Dale: een jonge vogel die nog slechts van tak tot tak kan vliegen. Voor Vic: hoezo onterecht? Jij kwam er toch gewoon als eerste mee?

  -> blijkt inderdaad veel algemener dan ik dacht. Maar ach, ik had toch even het plezier van het ontdekken (hoe onterecht ook:)//(onterecht gedachte omdat ik dacht op een briljante ontdekking te zijn gestoten,en dan blijkt het zelfs al gewoon in VD te staan:)
