English to Estonian translations [PRO] Medical - Cosmetics, Beauty / Creams | | English term or phrase: Arctiin and Apiaceae-Peptides | | This is a description of a face cream and Arctiin will be "arktiin" in Estonian as well, however, Apiaceae has me banging my head into wall :( The full sentence reads - "Speed’s up the skin’s own renewal process and improves the skin’s density and elasticity with the highly effective combination of Arctiin and Apiaceae-Peptides." Can it really be "sarikaliste peptiidid"?... |

| | arktiin ja sarikaliste õistaimede peptiidid | Explanation: As it is a marketing text for cosmetics, I believe the primary aim is to make the product description sound "appetising" - the consumer is not expected to get the finesses anyway ;). I added "õistaimede" in the hope that it "softens" the scientific term "sarikalised"; that's where the apiaceae actually belong. Personally, when translating cosmetics, I keep in mind that it's the industry that sells hope, first and foremost... |
