English to Finnish translations [Non-PRO]
English term or phrase: love of my live
You are the "love of my life"
elämäni suurin rakkaus
The word-for-word translation would be "elämäni rakkaus", but I would add in there the word "suurin" (= "greatest, biggest"), if it fits the context.
General info: Finns don't talk too much about love;-) For many Finns saying merely "I love you" is difficult enough. More Finnish-like would be "You're a great guy" - "Sä oot hyvä tyyppi" (colloquial; can be used for both male and female). In Finnish it is always safer to understate than to overstate things, to avoid sounding pathetic.
