Liikenneasema on käsittääkseni sellainen paikka johon ainakin täällä Britanniassa pysähdytään virvoittelemaan pitkän ajomatkan aikana. Auto tankataan ja lapset (ja aikuiset)syötetään ja juotetaan.
Suurimmissa "service stationeissa" voidaan hoitaa pankkiasioita ja yöpyä hotellissa myös.
Täällä niillä on nimi "motorway service station", koska ne on sijoitettu moottoriteiden varteen.
