Explanation:
Selon moi c'est: Ce bénéfice est (suffisamment) indépendant de l'achat du détaillant car cette publicité aurait pu être achetée à un autre (publicitaire) qui n'achetait pas de produits Stanley.

C'est qu'en fait le publicitaire auprès de qui la campagne de pub avait été réalisée est un client du détaillant et le bénéfice réalisé sur ses achats à lui sont indépendants des frais de pub !!
