If in fact this does not allow people to help themselves to the product, but is simply for display puproses, you might need another term; I was wondering about the very literal "support de comptoir"...?

Explanation:
J'allais proposer 'un kiosque'. Suite à votre complément d'info "c'est un objet plutôt petit cylindrique avec le produit réel visible à l'intérieur.", je dirais un petit éventaire ou encore mieux, un p'tit écrin de présentation.
'coffre/coffret' pourrait aussi convenir ICI.

P.S. Merci pour le complément d'info. Alors, s'il s'agit d'un thermo, "écrin " va très bien alors. Voir les réfs suivantes.

neutral  Tony M: Surely an "écrin" is usually sold with the article, whereas I take this to be a mere "display holder" for it prior to sale? / Sorry, no time now (on slow dial-up), so will have to take your word for it!
