Creep age forming describes the process used by Airbus and other manufacturers to shape the wing skin during heat treatment. By combining the required heat treatment, which strengthens the wing, and the forming of the wing, a process is eliminated which increases throughput and helps to reduce manufacturing costs. QinetiQ's innovative modelling tools have enabled Airbus UK to build the massive wings for its A380 project on time and to an exacting specification.

On utilise déjà age hardening = durcissement par vieillissement en métallurgie
