"The last six radar returns were coast targets and therefore not valid returns. When primary radar tracking and transponder code reception are lost the Radar Coast Mode is activated. The Coast targets are estimates of the aircraft position based on the last known heading and groundspeed."

"La dernière position radar valide, observée à 16 h 33 montre l'aéronef à une altitude de 1340 pieds au-dessus du niveau de la mer (asl), sur une trajectoire vraie de 341 degrés3 et à une vitesse sol de 90 nœuds. La dernière cible extrapolée4 de l'aéronef a été enregistrée à 16 h 34. Le plancher radar se situe à environ 1000 pieds asl dans la région de l'accident. Le système de positionnement global (GPS) n'a pas pu fournir de données puisqu'il avait été mis sur OFF avant le départ de CYHU."
