English term or phrase: fire-stick farming
This was apparently a practice used by Aborigines in Australia. I think they burned bits of the bush to shape the ecosystem. The texts I've found on this practice aren't all clear. Is there any equivalent in French?

Thanks very much in advance.

Explanation:
It is a practice in certain countries and in most African countries to cook with wood fire and in order to avoid deforestation, there has been a reforestation programme for planting certain species of plants which grow very quickly to enable the indegenious people to continue with wood-fire cooking while limiting the deforestation process
