My character is recalling childhood memories in a Canadian farm (1889). His father is ploughing a field with a horse ("Old Sue") and he is riding on top.
FATHER: C'mon, Old Sue. Giddy up!
SON: Yeah, giddy-up!
My try:
FATHER: Allez hue, Old Sue! Dégrouille-toi!
SON: Ouais, grouille-toi!

Reference information:
En fait, un enfant utiliserait (mais tout dépend de l'âge du gamin) plutôt "Ouais, hue coco !", il prend ça comme un jeu, alors que son père lui donne un ordre à son cheval de trait "Allez/Un p'tit effort, ma vieille bidule (tu comptes conserver Old Sue ?), hue !". Je pense qu'ici, ce serait bien de rendre cette différence de perception ;o)
