Explanation:
As in, there are variations in soil, and these variations in soil will be mapped, and the variations in soil that will be mapped are due to difference in water.

Hooray for super-duper expensive machines to do stuff that are easily done in a "primitive" lab. Well, I guess it may do well on a high enough scale.

neutral  xxxmediamatrix: The ST, as quoted, is very vague; it does not 'necessarily' refer to variations in water content. It could, for example, be the 'friabilité' or 'permeabilité' or the 'fertilité' of the soil, all of which will vary as the hydraulic conditions change.
