Je me perds dans cette fin de phrase alambiquée. Parle-t-on de Vauban ou des constructions? comment comprendre le mot "urgent"?

Buildings and cities grew in size and improved in efficiency conceived as autonomous objects after the idea of ‘belle nature’ as opposed to the ‘vrai nature’ in the broad sense as envisaged by Vauban which because of the very scale of these projects became even more significant and urgent.

Les édifices, les infrastructures et les villes ont gagné en am-pleur, en hauteur et en efficacité. Conçus comme des objets autonomes d’après l’idée de la « belle nature » opposée à celle de « vraie nature » au sens large comme le percevait Vauban, qui, en raison de l’échelle même de ces projets, est devenu encore plus important et urgent.
