English to French translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Architecture / Theatrical architecture
English term or phrase:tension wire grid
It is a non-traditional structure consisting of thin strands of aircraft wire woven within a steel framework and used in place of a standard gridiron or catwalk system. It serves the same purpose as a grid or catwalk in that it allows technicians to access the rigging and pipes above the stage.
It seems to add much more context than that what I have provided. Perhaps in different words?
In the context of theatrical architecture, what would I call a structure composed of thin interwoven strands of aircraft wire that form a grid above the stage/audience and is intended to allow technicians to access lighting or rigging positions located above the stage/audience? The wire in question is merely intended to support the technicians--it does not carry current or in itself support lighting or rigging equipment.
