English term or phrase: verism
Verism in painting and engraved copperplate... are today almost entirely abandoned by other artists...

Verism: artistic style in which photographic realism is combined with hallucinatory or ironic images. Its practitioners, including Salvador Dali and Yves Tanguy, often make use of Renaissance concepts of perspective and various academic conventions. The style is also termed veristic surrealism. (The Columbia Encyclopedia, bartleby.com)

Merci!
