crénaux = castillations, according to Collins Robert

I don't think "crenelation" exists in French, so I think I got confused there.

Crénau = castellation, on this site:

agree  Tony M: Be careful! "crénelage" is the process of castellation as a whole, but I think you are right, that "créneau" is the correct term for a single castellation, as is the case here
